Dr Erineos Michaelides

General Surgeon


Dr Erineos Michaelides was born and raised in Nicosia, with family origins from Paphos. He studied at the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. After completing his one-year internship in the Department of Surgery and Internal Medicine at Paphos General Hospital, he moved to Germany, where he trained in General/ Gastrointestinal Surgery, gaining extensive experience and specialised knowledge in modern approaches to the management of a wide range of surgical conditions.

He obtained his specialist qualification in General/Visceral Surgery in 2019 from the Medical Association of North Rhine and worked until 2025 as a Consultant General Surgeon at St. Josefs Hospital Hilden. During this time, he managed a large number of emergency and elective surgical cases. He was also actively involved in the training and supervision of surgical residents within the department.

Throughout his professional career, he has gained extensive experience, among other areas, in modern laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery,with emphasis in hernia surgery, gallstone disease, colorectal surgery, thyroid surgery and proctology.

He has attended numerous specialised surgical courses, workshops and training programs at leading European centres, continuously expanding his surgical skills and learning innovative techniques. He regularly participates in scientific conferences, remaining up to date with the latest developments in his field. He is a member of recognised scientific societies, including the European Hernia Society (EHS). He is fluent in Greek, English, and German.

He maintains his private practice under the General Healthcare System (GESY) at Evangelistria Medical Centre in Nicosia, where he is also a member of the Surgical Thyroid Team.

Dr Michaelides places particular emphasis on communication with his patients and providing them detailed information, within an environment of compassion, understanding and respect. His goal is to offer high-quality, personalised surgical care, combining safety with modern surgical techniques.
